FAQs

What do you and your team do to make your patients comfortable during their visits?

First, we’ll take the time to get to know and discuss the reason for your visit, your dental goals, and any fears or concerns you may have. After your gentle, yet thorough, exam, we’ll explain your treatment options and provide you with the information you need to make sound dental care decisions. We provide music and movies in our treatment rooms, and Dr. Mace is skilled at performing gentle injections.

Do you refer patients to specialists?

While we are trained and equipped to handle a wide variety of dental issues in our office, when a specialist would better serve you, we’ll refer you to someone in our trusted network of dental professionals.  Certain cases are quite complex and patients can benefit from a team approach to ensure an outstanding result. Your healthy smile is our primary goal, and we want to ensure that you receive needed care – from us or from the appropriate specialist.

What is a cosmetic dentist?

Cosmetic dentistry is not a specialty recognized by the American Dental Association, so any general dentist can claim to be a cosmetic dentist. To choose a good cosmetic dentist, review the doctor’s before-and-after photos of actual cases, ask about his or her postgraduate education in cosmetic dentistry, and make sure that you feel confident and comfortable in the office.

Do you accept referrals?

Yes, and thank you for your confidence. We appreciate your referrals and promise to extend the same comprehensive, caring service to your friends and coworkers that we give you every time you visit.

How does the doctor keep up to date on current techniques, technology, and materials in dentistry?

Dr. Mace feels that it’s every dental professional’s duty to stay current with advances in dentistry, so we take more than the state’s requirement for continuing education each year. We also read trade journals, attend professional association meetings, and do everything we can to keep current with the latest developments in general and cosmetic dentistry, as well as dental technology. We are passionate about our careers, so we enjoy learning new information to better serve you.
